In loving memory of Veronica H. Torres (Oct 29,1941-July 13,2025)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Veronica Torres, who has left us peacefully surrounded by love. She lived a life of courage, compassion, resilience, and deep devotion to her family.
Born in NYC, Veronica navigated life’s twists and turns with determination. She made her fair share of mistakes, as we all do, but what set her apart was her unwavering desire to learn from her mistakes, to grow, to love more deeply, and to try to do better each day. She learned to live with purpose; in her own way, striving to be the best version of herself. Through it all, she taught us it is not perfection but progress and kindness that define a good life.
She is a sister, a mother, a Ma, an aunt, a grandmother, and a friend, although to some, a guiding light.
Her love of life, laughter, resilience, smart ass smirks, and warm embraces will be lovingly remembered and profoundly missed.
Veronica is survived by her loving children: Charles, Hilda, Veronica, Francisco, Louis, Edward, Lillian, Carmen, Lynn, and Victor.
Bound by absolute love daughters Chantie and Melissa, along with her inherited daughters: Tracey, Rocio Norma, Barbara, Rosita, and Rosie.
She will be missed by her adored grandchildren Anastasia, Victor, Louis Jr, Natalie, Ralphie, Liz, Jessica, Julissa, Charles, Jonathan, Laura, Natasha, Marcelo, Francisco Jr, Brian Jr, Nicole, Samantha, Andrew, Austin and Sally, and her great grandchildren Louis III, Angel, Samuel, Matthew, Kiara, Annalis, Lyanna, Ethan, Gavin, Madison, Camilla, Desmond, Jonah, Layna, Tina, Victor, Amalia, Larry Lamar, Cassandra, Mercedes, and Janaliz.
Her loving committed family and party crew, Helen (Bunny), Allison, Noemi, Richie, Tara, Barbara, Brian, Michael, Jordan, Colin, Elizabeth, Leo, Victor, and Chubby.
Her godchildren Margie and Leo, her sister Clara, and sister in laws Carmen and Iris, and her girlfriend’s (Jessica and Jenilee).
Her devoted, understanding, and always willing to assist Healthcare advocator, Mike, and her dedicated, unwavering, supportive physician, Dr. Mervin Richards, who walked alongside this journey with not only her but with us.
Her legacy shall live on not in physical possessions but with the lessons she leaves us, to acknowledge errors, to never give up, to forgive, and most of all to love with all our heart. Though we grieve her absence here, we find comfort knowing she won’t be alone
and will be in good company. She will be surrounded by love, warm embraces, and familiar laughter.
She will join her parents, Edward and Helen, her sisters Peggy and Liz (A.K.A. partner in crime), brother-in-law Leo, who will once again be driven crazy by these
two crazy ladies, her friends, Mama, Connie, Joanie, and Jenny.
Undoubtedly beautiful, loving conversations to be continued with Bobby, and an all-time celebration with Joey and Frankie.
A life well-lived, a lovely, deeply felt.
Rest in Peace, Mom, you did good!
