Sarah (Elisano) Courtney

Sarah Courtney, surrounded by her loved ones, entered eternal rest at her home in West New York, NJ, on Friday, January 10th, 2025.  

A lifelong resident of West New York, NJ, she was born at her home in West New York to her parents Rose (DeSocio) and Dominick Elisano.

Sarah worked for Mutual of New York during the Sixties and Dura Test during the Seventies.

In 1971 she married the love of her life, Joseph James Courtney, and she took time off of work when her loving son Jeffrey was born.

She started working as an Administrative Assistant in 1986. for the West New York Board of Education, where she stayed until her retirement in 2018.

Sarah joins her beloved husband, Joseph James (2011), her parents, and her brother John Elisano in the Heavenly Kingdom.

She is survived by her loving son Jeffrey Courtney, his fiancé, Natalie Gomez, and her son Daniel Acosta.

Sarah will be remembered by her dear sister, Janice Cannao, with whom she was attached to the hip.  

A loving and devoted Aunt to John Elisano, Donald & Sylvia Elisano, Ralph & Jessica Elisano,  Lewis & Alexa Cannao, Scott & Alina Cannao, Darren & Ruth Cannao, Todd & Katie Cannao, and Bernie Courtney and their families.

She also had 16 great nieces and nephews who she adored.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, January 13th, 2025, from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, January 14th at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Libera, R. C. Church, West New York, NJ

Entombment to follow at Fairview Mausoleum, Fairview, NJ.
