Petar Reljanovic

Petar Reljanovic was born on May 22, 1941 in Otavice, Croatia to Ivan and Ika Reljanovic.

He passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family at his home in Castle Rock on Monday, December 2, 2024.

Petar grew up in a small farming village where he completed high school, and then served two years in the Yugoslavian Navy. In his early twenties, he immigrated to the United States and lived with his uncle in New York City. Petar held several odd jobs, including mopping floors at the Empire State Building.

He met his wife, Antica, in May 1966 and they married on October 16, 1966, in Hoboken, New Jersey. They raised their family in North Bergen, New Jersey. Petar worked in construction and retired from River Terminal Development Company after more than 30 years. In 2006, Petar and Antica moved to Castle Rock, Colorado, where he enjoyed gardening and sharing his harvest with his neighbors, hosting BBQ's, spending time with his family, and walking his dog, Princess. He also loved watching sports and rooting for his favorite soccer team, Hajduk Split. Every night he watched his favorite game shows; Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Family Feud.

Petar is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Ika; brother, Ilija; and sister, Manda Sucic. He is survived by his wife, Antica; children, Joanne Delucca (Neil), Peter (Kelly), and Annmary Dowd (Tony); and grandchildren, Neil Jr. (Kirsten), Angelica, Matthew, Adam, and Gianna. Petar was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and he cherished every moment spent with his family.

Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, December 14th, 2024, 1 pm at Fairview Mausoleum, Fairview, NJ

Petar Reljanović rođen je 22. svibnja 1941. godine u Otavicama u obitelji Ivana i Ike Reljanovića.

Preminuo je mirno i okružen svojom obitelji u svom domu u Castle Rocku u ponedjeljak, 2. Prosinca 2024.

Petar je odrastao u malom poljoprivrednom selu gdje je završio srednju školu, a zatim je dvije godine služio u Jugoslavenskoj mornarici. U ranim dvadesetima emigrirao je u Sjedinjene Države i živio sa svojim ujakom u New Yorku. U pocetku Petar je obavljao nekoliko teskih poslova, uključujući brisanje podova u Empire State Buildingu.

Svoju suprugu Anticu upoznao je u svibnju 1966., a vjenčali su se 16. listopada 1966. u Hobokenu, New Jersey. Obitelj su podigli u Sjevernom Bergenu, New Jersey. Petar je radio u građevinarstvu i nakon više od 30 godina otišao u mirovinu iz tvrtke River Terminal Development Company. 2006. godine Petar i Antica preselili su se u Castle Rock u Coloradu, gdje je uživao u vrtlarstvu i dijeljenju svojih proizvoda sa susjedima, roštiljanju, provođenju vremena sa svojom obitelji i šetnji sa svojim psom Princessom.Također je volio gledati sport i navijati za svoju omiljenu nogometnu momčad, Hajduk Split. Svake večeri gledao je svoje omiljene serije; Opasnost, Kolo sreće i Obiteljska svađa.

Petru su u smrti prethodili njegovi roditelji, Ivan i Ika; brat, Ilija; i sestra, Manda Sučić. Iza njega ostali su supruga Antica, djeca Joanne Delucca, Peter and Annmary, nevjesta Kelly, zetovi Neil and Tony, unučad Angelica, Matthew, Adam, Gianna and Neil Jr. sa zenom Kirsten.
Petar je bio voljeni suprug, otac i djed i cijenio je svaki trenutak proveden sa svojom obitelji.
