Pankaj Bapubhai Desai, 82, of Union City, New Jersey, and formerly of Mumbhai, India,
left this world on October 11, 2021.
Pankaj arrived in New York City on January 27, 1967 in order to pursue his Masters of
Business Administration degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University. His purpose was to
create a good meaningful life for his soon to be family. Pankaj became a citizen of the
United States in 1976. He was proud to be an American as he would often wear an
American flag lapel pin that was given to him the day after the 9/11 attacks. Pankaj’s
family was the light of his life.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Usha Desai; his three daughters and their spouses,
Maya Desai and Edison Guerra, Sonya Desai and Susan Blake, and Anita Desai and
Shawn Harry; his most cherished grandchildren, Priya Guerra, Amara Guerra, and
Emiel Harry; and his brother, Anoop Desai. He is preceded in death by his father,
Bapubhai Desai; his mother, Kusumben Desai; and his oldest brother, Shirish Desai.
The family has requested memorial donations to the Dementia Society of America in
lieu of flowers.
Memorial Service for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 16th, 2021 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
