It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mayra Jessenia Martinez Plaza, who passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Mayra was born on April 6, 1973, in Portoviejo, Manabí, Ecuador, to her loving parents, Jorge Martinez and Nelly Martinez Plaza.

She worked as a dedicated pharmacist at CVS, where she was admired for her compassion, professionalism, and commitment to caring for others. Mayra will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving father, Jorge Martinez; her beloved children, Luciano Mariño and Valentina Mariño; and her siblings, Lupe Proaño, Richard Proaño, Jorge Martinez, Roberto Martinez, Lenin Martinez, Kathy Martinez, Zoila Martinez, and Yandry Martinez.

Visitation services will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Barquin Funeral Home, Guttenberg, New Jersey.

Con profundo dolor anunciamos el fallecimiento de Mayra Jessenia Martínez Plaza, quien partió el miércoles 18 de marzo de 2026 en el Hospital Universitario Robert Wood Johnson en New Brunswick, Nueva Jersey.

Mayra nació el 6 de abril de 1973 en Portoviejo, Manabí, Ecuador, hija de sus queridos padres Jorge Martínez y Nelly Martínez Plaza.

Se desempeñó como farmacéutica en CVS, donde fue reconocida por su compasión, profesionalismo y dedicación al cuidado de los demás. Mayra será recordada por su bondad, fortaleza y el amor que brindó a su familia y amistades. Su ausencia deja un profundo vacío en todos los que la conocieron y la amaron.

Le sobreviven su querido padre, Jorge Martínez; sus hijos, Luciano Mariño y Valentina Mariño; y sus hermanos, Lupe Proaño, Richard Proaño, Jorge Martínez, Roberto Martínez, Lenin Martínez, Kathy Martínez, Zoila Martínez y Yandry Martínez.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el domingo 22 de marzo de 2026, de 10:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m. en Barquin Funeral Home, Guttenberg, Nueva Jersey.
