Josephine Lopez

Josephine Lopez, 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at ExcelCare of Dover.

Born in Havana, Cuba, she was the beloved daughter of Maria Cadahia and Victoriano Lopez Sanchez. Josephine was a lifelong resident of West New York, New Jersey, where she was a devoted member of St. Joseph of the Palisades R.C. Church.

She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and deep love for her family. Josephine is survived by her loving children, Benny Cabrera and his wife Odalys, and Theresa Cabrera. She was a cherished grandmother to Olivia Graves and Benny Cabrera.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Barquin Funeral Home, located in Guttenberg, New Jersey.

Josephine’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

In place of flowers, the family of Josephine Lopez kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in her honor.

Nacida en La Habana, Cuba, fue la querida hija de María Cadahia y Victoriano López Sánchez. Josephine fue residente de toda la vida de West New York, Nueva Jersey, y miembro devoto de la Iglesia Católica St. Joseph of the Palisades.

Será recordada por su calidez, fortaleza y profundo amor por su familia. Le sobreviven sus queridos hijos, Benny Cabrera y su esposa Odalys, y Theresa Cabrera. Fue una abuela muy querida de Olivia Graves y Benny Cabrera.

La familia celebrará un servicio conmemorativo el miércoles 1 de abril de 2026, de 4:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m., en la Funeraria Barquin, ubicada en Guttenberg, Nueva Jersey.

El recuerdo de Josephine vivirá para siempre en los corazones de quienes la conocieron y la amaron.
