Jose "Gig" Veras

Jose Antonio Veras, affectionately known as “Gig,” passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Morristown Medical Center, surrounded by the love of his wife and daughters.

From Weehawken, NJ, Jose was the beloved son of Anna Ramirez and the late Tony Veras, and stepson of Duvan Ramirez. He was the devoted husband of Mariann (Taglieri), proud father of Dallas and Madison, and father-in-law to Rob Suplicki. He was also a caring brother and a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Jose will be remembered for his love of life, passion for music, and unforgettable presence on the dance floor. His joyful spirit lit up every room, and his devotion to the Dallas Cowboys was unmatched.

For the past two years, Jose bravely battled end-stage heart failure. He faced every challenge with courage and determination, inspiring all who walked beside him. His fight reflected his deep love for his family and his will to keep going for them.

Above all, Jose leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. Though gone too soon, his joy and spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.

Visitation will be held at Barquin Funeral Home on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, from 3:00 – 7:00 pm.

Private cremation will follow.
