Obituary

John Anthony Baxter was born on June 23, 1947, grew up in Jersey City and later Lyndhurst NJ,. After serving honorably in the US Army, John settled in Maywood and finally in Little Ferry.

An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed fishing, boating, and horticulture.  Prior to retiring, John was a maintenance worker at Queen of Peace Church and School in Maywood, NJ. for many years, and was loved and appreciated by the children, staff, and parishioners.

A gifted handyman, John  was always ready to help friends, neighbors, and people in need. He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity and for remaining cheerful in spite of physical limitations.

During the last seven years of his life, John resided at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home in Paramus NJ and was a member of the VanRiperEllis Broadway Baptist Church. He had many friends at the Veterans Home,  the church and the community. 

Graveside Service will be offered, Tuesday, May 17th, 2022, 1:30 pm at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
