With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of an incredibly remarkable woman, Hilda Guadalupe Armas Morfi. Her life was a shining example of determination, love, and boundless talent. Hilda was born on December 12, 1961, in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, and she entered everlasting rest on July 20, 2023, at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ, surrounded by her devoted husband and children. Hilda leaves behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
In 1971, Hilda embarked on a new chapter in life with her late parents, Hilda (Diaz) and Avelino Armas, as they immigrated to the United States. They settled in West New York, NJ where Hilda would grow up – but later in her adulthood, Hilda made Ridgefield, NJ her home. However, her move to the United States marked the beginning of a transformative phase that shaped her into the astonishing woman she became. Despite the challenges of adapting to a new culture and language, she faced each obstacle with resilience and a hunger for knowledge, achieving remarkable success in life.
Hilda's journey as a trailblazing businesswoman began during her high-school years, where she worked diligently, driven by her desire to break through barriers and shatter glass ceilings. Her determination led her to graduate with a BS in Accounting from Saint Peter's College in 1985. From those early days of her career, it was evident that she possessed an innate entrepreneurial spirit and an unyielding commitment to turning her dreams into reality. In the same year, she achieved another milestone by obtaining her real estate license, and later in 1988 she reached yet another pivotal moment in her career by acquiring her broker license. Hilda’s ambition and dedication only grew stronger. In 1989, she laid the foundation of Armas Realty, and later in 2011 she dove into the home health care industry and established Armas Home Care - both companies located in West New York, NJ. As the founder and owner of these ventures, Hilda infused her work with unmatched passion and dedication, earning admiration and respect from colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond her incredible achievements in the business world, Hilda's personal life radiated love, strength, and selflessness. Hilda held family in an exceptionally significant place in her heart – it was a core value she deeply cherished. Her love for her parents was a beautiful reflection of the deep and meaningful connections she valued in her life. Throughout an incredible span of thirty-seven years, she remained a devoted wife to her high-school sweetheart, Felix Morfi, with their enduring relationship firmly anchored on a deep-rooted foundation of trust, love, and genuine affection. Embracing motherhood with wholehearted devotion, Hilda served as a constant pillar of support, guidance, and unconditional love for her three children: Hilda Morfi, Stephanie Morfi, and Felix Morfi. Hilda's love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. Her home became a haven of warmth and compassion, where her family felt cherished and secure. Hilda's unshakable commitment to her loved ones left a profound and enduring impact, comforting and encouraging all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Hilda was a vibrant woman, embracing each day with zest and enthusiasm. Her infectious spirit and radiant smile could brighten any room, while her remarkable talent for finding beauty in simplicity inspired others to see the best in themselves. Her boundless abilities left an unforgettable mark on everyone she encountered. As we grieve the loss of this truly extraordinary woman, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will forever live on in our hearts. May her soul find eternal peace, and may we honor her memory by embracing life with the same passion and love she exemplified.
