Gilberto Guillen passed away peacefully at the age 92 on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Palisades Medical Center surrounded by his cherished daughters, Sonia Guillen and Jacqueline Guillen-Zambrano, and nephew, Jose Lopez. Gilberto was born on May 14, 1931 to Manuel Guillen and Juana Guillen Toledo in Santa Clara, Las Villa in Cuba. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Magaly Guillen; daughters, Sonia Guillen and Jacqueline Guillen-Zambrano; son-in-law, Luis Zambrano; grand children, Zephyr Zambrano and Julian Zambrano; and sisters Elisa Guillen and Carile Guillen.
Gilberto immigrated with his young family to the United States in 1969 where with hard work and perseverance he pursued and achieved the American Dream. He was a factory machine operator at Ball Chain Manufacturing for 27 years, a salesman, and entrepreneur.
He was always a reserved, quiet man who above all, loved his dear family, enjoyed analyzing and talking about politics, hoped for Castro’s demise and a free Cuba, enjoyed watching the Yankees, and played the Bolita, Pick-3, and Mega Millions hoping to win big.
His many travels in the US included Florida, Las Vegas, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, as well as the international travel to Niagara Falls, Caribbean Islands, Spain, France, Italy, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.
He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Morning visitation on Thursday, May 30th from 9:30 - 10:00 am with a Funeral Blessing at 10 am.
Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, NJ
Gilberto Guillén falleció serenamente a la edad de 92 años el domingo 26 de mayo de 2024 en Palisades Medical Center rodeado de sus queridas hijas, Sonia Guillén y Jacqueline Guillén-Zambrano, y su sobrino, José López. Gilberto nació el 14 de mayo de 1931 de Manuel Guillén y Juana Guillén Toledo en Santa Clara, Las Villa en Cuba. Sobrevivido por su amada esposa durante 64 años, Magaly Guillén; hijas, Sonia Guillén y Jacqueline Guillén-Zambrano; yerno, Luis Zambrano; nietos, Zephyr Zambrano y Julián Zambrano; y hermanas Elisa Guillén y Carile Guillén.
Gilberto emigró con su familia joven a los Estados Unidos en 1969 donde con arduo trabajo y perseverancia persiguió y logró el Sueño Americano. Fue operador de maquinaria de fábrica en Ball Chain Manufacturing durante 27 años, vendedor y empresario.
Siempre fue un hombre reservado y tranquilo que, sobre todo, amaba a su querida familia, disfrutaba analizando y hablando de política, esperaba la desaparición de Castro y una Cuba libre, disfrutaba viendo a los Yankees y jugaba a la Bolita, al Pick-3 y al Mega Millions esperando ganar en grande.
Sus numerosos viajes a los EE. UU. incluyeron Florida, Las Vegas, Virginia, Nueva Jersey, Nueva York, Puerto Rico, así como viajes internacionales a las Cataratas del Niágara, Islas en el Caribe, España, Francia, Italia, México y la República Dominicana.
