Florencia (Lolita) Bazo entered eternal rest on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ.
Of Union City, NJ, she was born on October 27, 1945, in San Antonio de los Baños, Havana, Cuba, to her parents Antonio Matilla and Evelia (Sierra). She studied at the school of Commerce in Havana Cuba and studied accounting at the University of Havana. There she met Carlos Bazo and they were married in 1969. In 1971 she left Cuba with her husband and her parents. They lived in Madrid, Spain for 4 years. She came to the United States in 1975 and worked for New York Health and Hospital Corporation for over 40 years. Florencia and her husband were married for 52 years and worked together to build a secure future for themselves and their daughter and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Carlos, her daughter Patricia, and husband David.
Florencia leaves behind her cherished and precious grandchildren David Michael, Gabriel, Elizabeth.
She is also remembered by her dear siblings Gladys Rivera and husband Gerardo, Norma Matilla, and her loving nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and the many people who she touched with her kindness, smile and unconditional love.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday, September 23, 2021, 10:30 am at St. Joseph & St. Michael R.C Church, Union City, NJ.
Entombment to follow funeral mass at Flower Hill Mausoleum, North Bergen, NJ.
