Carmen Nila Camacho, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished member of her family, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at her residence in Edgewater, NJ

Carmen was born in Sancti Spíritus, Las Villas, Cuba, to Marcelino Teodoro Velazquez and Maria Cruz del Carmen Valdes. She carried with her the love, strength, and values of her Cuban heritage throughout her life.

Carmen leaves behind her devoted husband, Jose Luis Camacho, and her beloved daughter, Milagros de la Caridad Camacho. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Donald Leonardo Gardner Jr. and Abriell Valentyn Acosta, and will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her family and loved ones. She was also preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Angelina Maria Gardner, whom she will now be reunited with.

Carmen is also survived by her siblings, Haydee Vicenta Alvarez, Marcelo Cecilio Velazquez, and Ramon Agustin Velazquez, along with extended family and friends who will deeply mourn her passing.

Carmen's memory will live on through the family she loved so dearly and through the many lives she touched. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the legacy she leaves behind will remain in the hearts of her family forever.

A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, August 14th, 2026 at 10:30 am at St. Augustine's R.C. Church in Union City, NJ.

Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, NJ.

In place of flowers or trees, the family kindly asks that donations be made in memory of Carmen to the National Kidney Foundation.

Carmen nació en Sancti Spíritus, Las Villas, Cuba, hija de Marcelino Teodoro Velazquez y Maria Cruz del Carmen Valdes. A lo largo de su vida llevó consigo el amor, la fortaleza y los valores de su herencia cubana.

Carmen deja a su amado esposo, Jose Luis Camacho, y a su querida hija, Milagros de la Caridad Camacho. Será recordada con mucho amor por sus nietos, Donald Leonardo Gardner Jr. y Abriell Valentyn Acosta, quienes siempre llevarán su recuerdo en sus corazones. También fue precedida en la muerte por su querida nieta, Angelina Maria Gardner, con quien ahora se encontrará nuevamente.

Carmen también deja a sus hermanos, Haydee Vicenta Álvarez, Marcelo Cecilio Velázquez y Ramón Agustín Velázquez, así como a familiares y amigos que sentirán profundamente su partida.

El recuerdo de Carmen permanecerá vivo a través de la familia que amó profundamente y de las muchas vidas que tocó. Aunque ya no está físicamente con nosotros, el amor que brindó, los momentos que compartió y el legado que deja permanecerán para siempre en los corazones de su familia.

Se celebrará una misa de funeral el viernes 14 de agosto de 2026 a las 10:30 a. m. en la iglesia católica de San Agustín (St. Augustine's R.C. Church) en Union City, Nueva Jersey.

El sepelio tendrá lugar a continuación en el cementerio Fairview, en Fairview, Nueva Jersey.

En lugar de flores o árboles, la familia solicita amablemente que se hagan donaciones en memoria de Carmen a la National Kidney Foundation.
