Carlos Bazo

Carlos Bazo, 83 years old, of Union City, New Jersey, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 17, 2025, at home peacefully surrounded by his family.

Of Union City, NJ, he was born on July 10, 1941, in Havana, Cuba, to his parents Carlos Bazo Sr. and Dolores (Lola) Martinez.

He was educated at the “Colegio de La Salle” in Havana Cuba and studied accounting at the University of Havana. While at the university he met Florencia (Lolita) Mantilla.

They soon fell in love, and they got married in 1969.  In 1971 he and his wife Lolita emigrated to Madrid, Spain where they lived for four years. In 1975 he came to the United States and worked for the Prudential Insurance Company of America for over 20 years.

Carlos and Lolita were married for 52 years until her passing in 2021. Together they persevered and worked diligently to build a secure and hopeful future for themselves and their family.

Carlos is survived by his daughters Marlene Bazo and Patricia Rodriguez (David).

He leaves behind his cherished and precious grandchildren Junior, David Michael, Gabriel, and Elizabeth, and
three great-grandchildren Ailin, Elizabeth, and Dominic Junior.

He is also remembered by his dear sister Lourdes Bazo Perez and his loving nieces Lourdes Rodriguez (Gerardo) and Anne Marie Dono (Michael).

Carlos will be remembered for his intellectual curiosity, love of classical music and films, passion for history and world affairs, and unwavering love for his family.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 20 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass will be offered Friday, March 21, at 10:30 am at St. Joseph & St. Michael R.C Church, Union City, NJ.

Entombment to follow funeral mass at Flower Hill Mausoleum, North Bergen, NJ.
