Alfred C. Eckert III passed away peacefully on June 25, at the age of 76.
Fred was a charming raconteur whose warmth and personality could fill a room.
He deployed his brilliance in corporate finance and dealmaking to build a distinguished career in merchant and investment banking, first rising through the ranks at Goldman Sachs to become a senior partner then continuing to make his mark as founder of GSC Partners, an independent investment firm.
Fred graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in materials engineering and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar.
He was known for his love of the Green Bay Packers and spent many hours cheering for the team.
He is survived by his three sons, Alfred Carl IV (Colleen), William Berl, and John Isaiah; a granddaughter Mary Margaret (Maggie); and siblings James, David, and Ellen Georgilis.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in memory of Alfred C. Eckert III to the Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, which will help provide Packers Wishes to kids from Wisconsin.
