Lucy Maria Sorlucco

Lucy Maria Sorlucco, surrounded by her family, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 10th, 2019, at her residence in North Bergen.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY to her parents Anthony Sorlucco and Mafalda Iannelli.

Lucy graduated from the prestigious High School of Music & Art and was an alumnus of Brooklyn College. After completing her education, Lucy taught in New York City schools while maintaining a busy performing schedule in local theatrical and operatic productions.  Later in life, Lucy took on the role of Fraulein Schneider in the musical Cabaret, appearing in hundreds of performances in worldwide productions of the show over the course of 16 years. She also appeared in many commercial and TV roles, even completing a cameo on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” while in the grips of her illness last year. She never stopped creating and was an inspiration to all she worked with. 

She is survived by her loving Mother Mafalda Iannelli, her sons Geoffrey Gresh and Stuart Taranto, his fiancee Tracey her granchild Luca, her aunts Elena Iannelli and Lucy Grilletto.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 14, 3:00-7:00 pm, at the funeral home.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 21st, at 10:00 am at St. Malachy the Actors R.C. Church, 239 W. 49th St. New York, NY.
